A video recently went viral on social media showing a dramatic scene in which an elderly woman was attacked by a cobra.
According to the reporter’s investigation, the woman in the video is Mrs. T., 96, who lives in Hamlet 7, Thuan Son Commune, Do Luong District, Nghe An Province. The incident occurred at around 11:20 a.m. on April 29, while Mrs. T. was walking from her house into the yard using her cane.
As she sat down on a chair in the middle of the yard, she noticed a dark object in front of her. When she approached to take a closer look, the cobra suddenly lunged at her. Despite her fear, Mrs. T. remained calm and instinctively used her cane to ward off the snake.
The cobra lunged again, prompting her to step backward and fall to the ground.
Mr. C., Mrs. T.’s grandson, said that as she was fending off the snake, another grandchild who had just returned from school came to help chase it away. According to him, it was a cobra.
"We had seen this snake a few times before but never imagined it would attack her in broad daylight. Fortunately, she had her cane and reacted quickly. After the fall, she wasn't injured, but the whole family was shaken," Mr. C. shared.
The video, which is over a minute long, has garnered significant attention online. Many viewers expressed concern over the dangerous situation and admired the elderly woman’s quick reaction despite her advanced age.
Local residents noted that Mrs. T.’s home is located near hills and dense vegetation, so snakes occasionally entering the yard is not unusual.
