As the two-tier local administration model was officially put into operation on July 1, the Viettel Artificial Intelligence and Data Services Centre (Viettel AI) has introduced a virtual assistant that makes it easier for users to look up information about newly established administrative units.
The newly-developed AI assistant can be accessed via the web platform at https://tracuuphuongxa.trolyao.org/, enabling all citizens to easily search for such information with a personal computer, tablet or smartphone.
Users can ask questions about the administrative unit information they wish to learn about in a conversational format, and the virtual assistant will provide the relevant details along with corresponding official sources. The AI assistant also offers a comprehensive handbook on the newly reorganised provincial and communal administrative units, including resolutions issued by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly regarding the restructuring of administrative units.
The newly released virtual assistant is built on a large Vietnamese language model developed by telecom giant Viettel, designed and trained using official documents, which ensures high accuracy when retrieving updated information about administrative restructuring.
On June 12, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man signed Resolution No.202/2025/QH15 on the restructuring of Vietnam’s provincial-level administrative units.
Accordingly, Vietnam has cut the number of administrative units from 63 provinces and cities to 34, and the number of communes and wards from over 10,000 to just 3,321.
Localities nationwide simultaneously held ceremonies on June 30 to announce central and local resolutions and decisions regarding the organisation of the two-tier local government model./.VNA
