According to the latest data from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, the average on-time performance (OTP) across the domestic aviation industry in April stood at 57.5%.

Among local carriers, Bamboo Airways recorded the highest OTP at 80.8%. This was followed by Pacific Airlines (80%), VASCO (72.8%), and Vietravel Airlines (71.5%). Vietnam Airlines maintained a 69% on-time rate, while Vietjet lagged behind with just 43.3% of its flights departing on time.

In terms of flight cancellations, the industry-wide rate was 0.6% in April, up by 0.2 percentage points compared to the previous month.

The highest cancellation rates were reported by VASCO at 2%, Pacific Airlines at 1.1%, and Vietravel Airlines at 1%. Vietjet Air and Vietnam Airlines had cancellation rates of 0.6% and 0.4% respectively. Bamboo Airways stood out as the only carrier with no flight cancellations during the month.

Looking ahead to the summer peak season from May 15 to August 15, 2025, domestic carriers plan to operate approximately 68,558 flights - an average of 745 flights per day.

The total seat supply on domestic routes is expected to reach nearly 14 million, representing an 18% increase compared to the summer of 2024.

Flights to and from popular tourist destinations such as Cam Ranh, Phu Quoc, Da Lat, and Quy Nhon will see more than 20,000 flights and nearly 4.1 million available seats.

Meanwhile, the three main trunk routes - Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City - are expected to handle around 26,800 flights, accounting for 39% of the total, with nearly 5.9 million seats.
