During the morning ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of Vietnam’s reunification, military delegations from China, Laos, and Cambodia paraded alongside the Vietnam People's Army, showcasing regional friendship and cooperation.
Over the past week, from their arrival in Vietnam to the rehearsal sessions and the official celebration, the three military delegations attracted significant attention. As they marched through the streets of Ho Chi Minh City, the Chinese, Lao, and Cambodian troops received enthusiastic applause and encouragement from the Vietnamese public.
Photos and videos of the foreign military parade units shared by the media and on social networks drew as much attention as those of Vietnam’s own armed forces.
The Honor Guard of the People's Liberation Army of China, established in 1952, is primarily responsible for ceremonial duties for the Party, State, and military. Over its 73-year history, the unit has successfully performed in more than 13,000 ceremonial events, representing the Chinese state and military with professionalism, discipline, and a unified, dignified appearance.
The Lao People's Army was founded on January 20, 1949. As the leading armed force of Laos’ national revolution, it fought shoulder to shoulder with the Vietnam People's Army during the national liberation struggles of both countries. Their close-knit alliance led to victories over invading forces and the attainment of national independence for both nations.
Today, the Lao People's Army is comprehensively developed. The relationship between the two Parties, States, and armed forces continues to be strengthened. Together, they safeguard revolutionary achievements, border security, and territorial integrity, nurturing a profound friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation aimed at the prosperity of both countries and the broader region.
The Royal Cambodian Armed Forces were established on November 9, 1953. Comprising the Army, Navy, Air Force, Gendarmerie, and specialized units, they play a vital role in defending Cambodia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and peace.
With a long-standing tradition of friendship and solidarity, the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and the Vietnam People's Army have fought together against common enemies and supported one another in bringing peace, independence, and freedom to both nations.
Currently, military ties between Cambodia and Vietnam continue to grow, upholding the principle of “Good neighbors, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability” in order to protect each country’s independence and sovereignty.
