The Khanh Son solid waste treatment complex, where the new waste-to-energy plant is planned.

Da Nang is calling for domestic and international investors to participate in a waste treatment plant project with a capacity of 1,000 tons per day under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, with total investment estimated at over VND 2.777 trillion (approximately USD 109 million).

The city’s Department of Agriculture and Environment has officially invited interested investors to register for the project, which will be located at the Khanh Son solid waste treatment complex.

The initiative aims to enhance Da Nang’s capacity to process household waste, ensure environmental safety, and implement a sustainable waste management system.

According to the approved plan, the project will cover more than 53,768 square meters and will include key components such as a weigh station, garbage vehicle holding area, leachate reception tank, incineration zone, auxiliary production facilities, internal traffic system, lighting, fencing, and other technical infrastructure.

Construction is scheduled to begin between 2025 and 2028, with continuous operation planned for 25 years.

This timeline does not include the period required for feasibility study preparation, appraisal, approval, investor selection, or construction.

The preliminary investment capital of over USD 109 million will be arranged by the selected PPP investor and project enterprise.

Da Nang authorities will pay the investor a waste treatment fee estimated at USD 19.5 per ton (including VAT and secondary waste treatment costs).

This rate will be finalized in the contract upon approval of the cooperation framework.
