On June 6, the Hanoi Police Department announced it had officially prosecuted and indicted five individuals: Le Huu Minh (born 1994, residing in Thanh Hoa), Le Huy Phiet (born 1980, residing in Hai Phong), Pham Tu Uyen (born 1996, residing in Hanoi), Nguyen Thi Ly (born 1990, residing in Thanh Hoa), and Tran Manh Tien (born 2003, residing in Bac Giang).

The group, led by Le Huu Minh, was responsible for selling counterfeit electronics bearing well-known brand names on social media with an exceptionally large scale of operation.

Minh assigned Phiet, Uyen, and Ly to manage the warehouse, pack products, and coordinate deliveries. Minh also rented a dedicated office space for telesales operations. From there, they operated a Facebook page called “Tin Viet” to advertise and sell products bearing the Marshall brand.

On the associated website, the group posted false information about a supposed 10th-anniversary promotional campaign by Marshall, offering discounts of up to 70% on items like speakers, headphones, and amplifiers.

The purchasing links redirected customers to a counterfeit website with a domain name similar to the official brand’s site.

Products were offered at prices as low as several hundred thousand VND (around $10–$30), far below their real market value. After luring users through Facebook ads, the group directed them to the fake site, which mimicked the layout of the brand's official page.

Once buyers submitted their personal and shipping information, telesales staff would promptly call to confirm the order. The counterfeit products were then packaged to resemble genuine items and delivered via major shipping companies.

To avoid detection and tracking by authorities, the suspects frequently changed their shipping providers.

Previously, the Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention Division coordinated with the Investigative Security Agency to search multiple storage locations used by the group.

At two adjacent four-story houses in the General Department 5 residential area (Tan Trieu Commune, Thanh Tri District), authorities discovered a large counterfeit goods warehouse. Items seized included 12,200 smartwatches, 6,800 Marshall headphones, 30 Ms Kill Bur II speakers, 1,700 Emberton speakers, 850 Nillen speakers, 2,550 Fujisu vacuum cleaners, 900 Omega watches, 475 Orient watches, and thousands of clothing and accessories of unknown origin.

In total, 25,505 counterfeit items were seized. Preliminary estimates place the value of the fake goods at approximately 22 billion VND (around $858,000).

Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify and apprehend other individuals connected to the operation.
