Numerous international news agencies and media outlets extensively covered Vietnam’s April 30 celebrations, featuring a military parade and procession commemorating the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification.

On April 30, The Guardian (UK) reported on Vietnam’s military parade, highlighting the commemorative spirit of the 50th anniversary of reunification. The British newspaper was especially impressed by the parade formations and the aerial display featuring military fighter jets and helicopters.

Meanwhile, Cuba’s Canal Caribe aired a special report praising the historical significance of the event, emphasizing Vietnam’s lesson in the power of national unity. The feature revisited milestone moments including the resistance war against the United States and the historic victory on April 30, 1975.

Cambodia’s Khmer Times also reported on the grand celebration, focusing on the participation of 119 personnel from the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF). An RCAF spokesperson described Vietnam’s military parade as a “historic event.”

China’s Xinhua News Agency released a report on April 29, showcasing scenes of Ho Chi Minh City residents wearing red shirts emblazoned with yellow stars and participating in a grand public stage performance in celebration of April 30.

In addition to Xinhua, major Chinese media outlets such as Sina and China News published video footage of the Honor Guard from the People’s Liberation Army participating in Vietnam’s April 30 parade. Chinese media emphasized the event as a symbol of enduring solidarity, friendship, and international cooperation between the two nations.

According to the United States’ NPR, large crowds of local residents and people from across Vietnam gathered in Ho Chi Minh City to witness the landmark parade commemorating 50 years since the liberation of the South and national reunification.

Mexico’s daily newspaper La Jornada published photos and praised Vietnam’s historic April 30, 1975 victory, crediting it with unifying the country, restoring peace, and catalyzing Vietnam’s economic rise into the “new Asian tiger.”

Meanwhile, ABC News (Australia) remarked that Vietnam’s April 30 parade strongly conveyed the nation’s pride and military strength.

“The April 30 event marked a monumental victory for the Vietnamese people in their fight for independence and stands as a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism and unyielding determination,” ABC commented.
