Following the conclusion of the second-leg semifinal clash between BG Pathum United and Buriram United, the opponent of Cong An Ha Noi (Hanoi Police FC - CAHN) in the 2024/25 ASEAN Club Championship final has been officially determined.

Buriram United traveled to BG Pathum United's home ground with a significant advantage, having won the first leg 3-1. Despite the favorable scoreline, the Thai giants approached the return leg with caution, facing a familiar domestic rival.

Right from the opening minutes, both teams played an open game and created several dangerous chances. However, solid defensive displays and the brilliance of both goalkeepers saw the first half end goalless.

In the second half, BG Pathum United pushed forward in search of a comeback goal, but their efforts went unrewarded. On the other side, Buriram’s attackers including Bissoli, Supachai, and Chananan made several attempts on goal but were unable to convert.

The match ended 0-0, sending Buriram United to the final with a 3-1 aggregate victory. They will now meet Vietnam’s CAHN in what promises to be an electrifying showdown between the region’s top clubs.

CAHN is set to face Buriram United again in the final of the 2024/25 ASEAN Club Championship.

This encounter is being hailed as the "El Clasico" of Southeast Asian club football, featuring the best representatives from the region’s two strongest footballing nations – Vietnam and Thailand.

The first leg of the ASEAN Club Championship final will be played at Hang Day Stadium on May 14, with the return leg scheduled for May 21 in Thailand.
