On April 26, the city’s People’s Committee hosted a program to introduce and celebrate these milestones, which span the period from 1975 to 2025.

According to the People's Committee, the events reflect profound historical, political, economic, and social significance, highlighting the distinctive spirit of Ho Chi Minh City's citizens, the Southeast region, and the nation as a whole.

The 50 selected events and activities cover a broad range of fields, including: Politics (14 events); Defense and Security (2 events); Healthcare (2 events); Economy (5 events); History and Culture (2 events); Transportation (3 events); Culture and Society (12 events); Environment (2 events); Science and Technology (4 events); Education (2 events); Foreign Affairs (1 event); and Sports (1 event).

Selection process: The final 50 events were chosen from an initial list of 57, following a city-wide poll that engaged more than 9,000 participants, including both Vietnamese citizens and foreigners living, working, and studying in Ho Chi Minh City.

Celebrating half a century of transformation: The 50 selected events not only highlight key political, economic, scientific, and cultural achievements but also honor the remarkable journey of Ho Chi Minh City from post-war recovery to becoming a vibrant and modern urban center.

At the unveiling ceremony, delegates, residents, and guests had the opportunity to meet and exchange stories with figures associated with these historical milestones.
