Bilateral trade between Vietnam and Hungary reached USD 932 million in 2024. Currently, Hungary has 21 valid foreign direct investment projects in Vietnam with a total registered capital of USD 50.66 million, ranking 52nd among 149 countries and territories investing in Vietnam.
The Vietnamese community in Hungary consists of around 6,000 people, primarily involved in the garment trade at markets and Asian commercial centers. Their livelihoods are relatively stable, and the Vietnamese diaspora maintains a positive reputation in the host country.
