The iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Pro, and the all-new iPhone 17 Air are expected to lead Apple’s upcoming lineup in RAM upgrades when the company unveils the devices this September.

According to a leak from Fixed Focus Digital, a Weibo account with over two million followers, the iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max will all be equipped with 12GB of RAM.
This source has a strong track record, having previously leaked the accurate name “iPhone 16e” before its official announcement, lending credibility to the latest information.
Reportedly, the standard iPhone 17 model will come with 8GB of RAM, maintaining parity with all four current iPhone 16 variants: iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max.
In April, renowned supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also predicted that the iPhone 17 Air, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max would feature 12GB of RAM. However, at the time, he was uncertain whether the base iPhone 17 would also receive a RAM increase due to concerns over component supply. Since then, no updates have been provided on the matter.
If the leaks prove accurate, this will be the first time Apple makes a clear distinction in RAM capacity between standard and Pro models - likely in response to the growing demand for memory-intensive features such as on-device artificial intelligence.
Apple is expected to officially launch the iPhone 17 series this September, following its traditional annual release schedule. The 2025 lineup will likely include the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the iPhone 17 Air - with the Pro variants continuing to be the most anticipated.
