A jet ski operating off the coast of Binh Dinh lost control and veered onto shore, crashing into two children. The tragic incident left an 8-year-old girl dead and another child injured, who is currently under medical treatment.

On the afternoon of May 1, the Border Guard Command of Binh Dinh Province ordered a temporary suspension of all jet ski and passenger canoe operations in the Nhon Hai commune area (Quy Nhon City).

Initial reports indicate that around noon the same day, La Van Lo, 37, a resident of Nhon Hai commune, was operating a jet ski along the coast of Hon Kho. The vehicle reportedly got caught in a rope used to secure buoys to jet skis, causing the throttle to jam.

The jet ski then surged onto the beach and struck two children, Doan Pham Minh K., 8, and Doan Pham Kieu N., 14, both residents of Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi.

The victims were immediately rushed to Binh Dinh General Hospital for emergency treatment. However, due to the severity of her injuries, K. did not survive.

Local authorities have visited the hospital to offer condolences to the victim’s family. They are working with the Waterway Traffic Police Unit and the Provincial Police Investigation Department to handle the case.
