The disaster completely destroyed the home of V.V.H.’s family. At the time of the incident, his wife, V.T.T. (born in 1998), and their daughter, V.K.T. (born in 2020), were inside the house and became trapped.
Rescue teams worked tirelessly through the night and recovered the bodies of both victims by 12:20 a.m. on July 14. Their reinforced 160-square-meter home was completely demolished, with estimated property damage amounting to approximately USD 51,300 (VND 1.3 billion).
The landslide also destroyed the 150-square-meter wooden house of Vu Van Lam’s family. At the time of the collapse, his wife Bui Thi Van Anh (born in 2003) and their two children, Vu Minh Luan (born in 2021) and Vu Tu Uyen (born in 2024), were inside.
Fortunately, the wooden structure’s supportive beams helped protect the family, allowing rescuers to safely evacuate all three. They were promptly taken to the Van Yen District Medical Center for emergency treatment.
Upon receiving the alert, local authorities and the commune’s Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Committee immediately arrived on the scene to oversee the recovery efforts. Relevant agencies are continuing to provide support and assistance to the affected families as they recover from the disaster.
