On June 27, the Vietnamese stock market maintained its upward momentum, driven by a strong performance in large-cap stocks. The VN-Index posted solid gains as buyers dominated the session, pushing the index higher and closing in positive territory. At the close, the VN-Index rose 5.77 points to reach 1,371.44.
Market liquidity improved from the previous session, with the total trading volume across all three exchanges surpassing 856 million shares, corresponding to a total transaction value of over 20.883 trillion VND (approximately 822.3 million USD).
Foreign investors continued to be net sellers across all three exchanges, offloading more than 158 billion VND (about 6.2 million USD), primarily in stocks like FPT (191.03 billion VND), VCI (73.11 billion VND), STB (62.72 billion VND), PVS (61 billion VND), and GEX (49.22 billion VND).
Conversely, net buying was concentrated in stocks such as MSN (127.23 billion VND), MWG (62.59 billion VND), VHM (60.14 billion VND), VND (55.03 billion VND), and CTR (48.55 billion VND).
On HoSE, the value of matched orders continued to rise, reaching over 17.413 trillion VND (approximately 685.7 million USD).
Key contributors to the VN-Index's 6.32-point gain included MSN, VHM, VNM, BID, VCB, MWG, VIC, VPB, BCM, and DGC. On the downside, MBB, GAS, STB, GEE, TCB, SHB, GVR, EIB, NVL, and DGW collectively reduced the index by 1.62 points.
By sector, software stocks edged up by 0.54%, mainly due to gains in FPT, CMG, ITD, and CMT. Securities stocks advanced 0.32%, led by SSI, VND, HCM, FTS, BSI, DSE, VDS, AGR, DSC, TVS, APG, TVB, and CSI, though some like VCI, FUEVFVND, CTS, VFS, ORS, and OGC fell.
Bank stocks were mostly in the green, up 0.22%, with notable gains in VCB, BID, CTG, VPB, LPB, HDB, TPB, NAB, BAB, ABB, VAB, and BVB. A few declined, including TCB, MBB, STB, SHB, EIB, and EVF.
Real estate stocks gained 0.67%, led by VIC, VHM, BCM, VRE, SSH, KDH, VPI, NLG, TCH, DIG, SJS, VCR, KOS, and TAL. Decliners included NVL, KSF, IDC, SIP, CEO, HDG, SZC, DXS, NTC, CRE, SCR, AGG, PXL, NTL, and NBB.
Energy stocks saw widespread declines, falling 0.56% due to BSR, PVS, PVD, PVC, MGC, and ITS. Some bucked the trend, such as TMB, CST, PVB, HLC, MDC, PSB, and THT.
Materials stocks rose 0.13%, with support from HPG, DGC, MSR, VGC, BMP, PHR, VCS, CSV, PTB, DNP, AAA, and BFC. GVR, KSV, DCM, DPM, HSG, NKG, VIF, ACG, and HT1 fell.
Insurance stocks mostly declined, losing 0.38%, led by BVH, PVI, BHI, and AIC. Gainers included BIC, MIG, PTI, PGI, ABI, and BLI.
Retail stocks performed well, rising 0.95%, driven by MWG, PLX, PNJ, FRT, HHS, SAS, CTF, TLP, CLX, PEG, SMC, PSD, and TLH. Those that declined included OIL, DGW, VFG, PET, HAX, MVC, DPQ, SHN, VPG, and JVC.
The VNXALL-Index also saw broad gains, closing up 8.76 points (+0.39%) at 2,254.69. Liquidity included over 743.17 million shares traded, worth more than 19.381 trillion VND (around 763.5 million USD), with 185 gainers, 110 unchanged, and 164 decliners.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index ended at 227.81, up 0.11 points (+0.05%). A total of 76.51 million shares changed hands, valued at 1.293 trillion VND (approximately 50.9 million USD). The session recorded 84 gainers, 65 unchanged, and 66 losers.
The HNX30 Index slipped by 0.64 points (-0.14%) to 468.11, with 44.44 million shares traded, valued at 915.82 billion VND (about 36.1 million USD). The market saw 14 advancing stocks, 6 unchanged, and 10 declining.
On UPCoM, the UPCoM-Index rose 0.56 points (+0.56%) to 100.62, with over 57.66 million shares traded for a total of 617.46 billion VND (around 24.4 million USD). The board recorded 178 advancers, 131 unchanged, and 114 decliners.
At the Ho Chi Minh City exchange, the VN-Index climbed 5.77 points (+0.42%) to 1,371.44. Trading volume exceeded 722.4 million shares, with a value of over 18.972 trillion VND (roughly 726.8 million USD). The bourse saw 163 gainers, 69 unchanged, and 138 decliners.
The VN30 Index rose 12.32 points (+0.84%) to close at 1,475.89. Liquidity included over 308.91 million shares, valued at 9.889 trillion VND (approximately 378.6 million USD). Among the VN30 stocks, 20 advanced, 3 were unchanged, and 7 fell.
The most actively traded stocks were DIG (over 23.66 million shares), VPB (21.15 million), SSI (19.5 million), VND (18.77 million), and HPG (16.48 million).
Top five gainers were CMG (+6.99%), PNC (+6.97%), TTE (+6.96%), SVD (+6.88%), and LDG (+6.74%). The biggest decliners included DCL (-6.88%), DCM (-6.66%), ADG (-6.37%), TNC (-4.92%), and PJT (-4.17%).
