Huynh Tran Y Nhi, the reigning Miss World Vietnam 2023 and Vietnam’s representative at the 72nd Miss World pageant, is ready to embark on her journey to win the prestigious crown in India.

At her official send-off ceremony on April 23, Y Nhi appeared radiant and confident, proudly presenting the fruits of months of preparation for the world’s longest-running beauty pageant.

“I’m going to Miss World with all the love people have given me, along with determination, confidence, courage, and a deep sense of responsibility,” Y Nhi said.

She emphasized that competing for the crown is not just a chance to shine individually, but also a meaningful opportunity to promote Vietnam’s image on the global stage.

A key highlight of her Miss World journey is her humanitarian project Heart to Head. Over the past months, Y Nhi has traveled to 12 provinces, donating 20 bookshelves to more than 20 schools and thousands of books to students in remote and disadvantaged areas.

Her most emotional moment came during her visit to Nam Tra My in Quang Nam Province.

“I still remember the steps that led me to Nam Tra My, where the first bookshelves were set up. What I always wonder is how to ensure that each book not only opens knowledge but also new horizons for children,” Y Nhi said in a video presentation. “Heart to Head is more than a plan; it’s a journey of compassion - for both me and the children.”

Another show-stopping moment from Y Nhi's journey is her Dances of the world performance at Miss World. She chose to express strength and resilience through the “Dance of the Highlands,” inspired by Vietnam’s Central Highlands culture. Remarkably, she executed a daring acrobatic move after just two days of training.

Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc, Executive Director of Miss World Vietnam, praised Y Nhi’s relentless efforts and the strong support she has received from the public. She expressed hope that the audience will continue to stand by her throughout the competition.

A heartfelt moment during the send-off ceremony came when Y Nhi presented the first bouquet of flowers to her beloved father, Huynh Tan Nguyen. She was overwhelmed with emotion, shedding tears as she honored him and her family on stage.

Y Nhi will arrive in Telangana, India, on May 7 to compete alongside contestants from around the world. She will participate in events such as the Head to Head Challenge, talent, and sports competitions. The grand finale is scheduled for May 31.
