Authorities conducted an emergency search of Hoa’s residence and workplace, seizing various documents and related evidence.

The Internal Political Security Division discovered that Ton Quy Hoa had shown signs of prolonged misconduct involving the misappropriation of state-allocated benefits intended for athletes under his supervision.

According to investigators, from 2021 until his arrest, Hoa illegally pocketed allowances designated for three athletes, totaling more than 200 million VND (approximately 7,900 USD).

After reporting findings to provincial leaders, the Internal Political Security Division, in collaboration with the Investigation Security Department, established a special task force to investigate the case thoroughly.

Authorities have since recovered the full amount of misappropriated funds and returned it to the affected athletes. Legal procedures are now being completed to prosecute the suspect in accordance with the law.

The case remains under investigation.
