The acting appointment will remain in effect until a permanent chairman is formally elected and confirmed.

Earlier, on April 28, the Provincial People’s Council submitted a proposal to the Prime Minister recommending Nguyen Thien Van for the acting position during the 2021–2026 term.

Nguyen Thien Van was born in 1973 in Nghe An Province. He has previously held several key leadership roles, including Chairman of the Dak Lak Cooperative Alliance and Secretary of the Ea Sup District Party Committee.

In June 2023, he was elected Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak People’s Committee by the provincial People’s Council.

This appointment follows the retirement of former Chairman Pham Ngoc Nghi, who was granted early retirement on April 15 at his personal request, as approved by the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee.
