This marks the first military parade held in six years, with the previous one dating back to 2019. This year’s event featured more than 4,000 service members from the Ministry of Defense, the National Guard, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Border Service.
Over 200 military vehicles and 66 aircraft and helicopters were also showcased. Each parade formation comprised 156 troops, concluding with a military band of 300 musicians.
At the start of the event, volunteers distributed Victory Ribbons - a symbol of courage and remembrance of the heroes who fought in the Great Patriotic War - meant to be preserved by future generations.
The ribbons are sky blue, reflecting the color of Kazakhstan’s national flag. Each one is 30 cm long and 3 cm wide, adorned in the center with a golden emblem of the national coat of arms.
The military parade was broadcast live on Kazakhstan’s national television channels, public LED screens in major cities, and the official social media platforms of the Ministry of Defense.
Following the parade, a celebratory concert was held featuring famous Kazakh singers and performing arts groups.
The event honored the immense contributions of the Kazakh people who fought to defend their homeland, many of whom gave their lives. It also served to educate the younger generation about patriotism and the value of sacrifice, while demonstrating the strength and readiness of Kazakhstan’s armed forces.
