A fleet from the Russian Navy has docked at Tien Sa Port, beginning a friendly visit to Da Nang. The visit coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Russia, further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The Russian naval fleet includes the escort ship Rezki, the escort ship Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov, and the medium-sized oil tanker Pechenga. The fleet is composed of 262 officers, sailors, and staff, under the command of Colonel Anciferov Alexey Vitalievich.
During their visit, from May 10 to 14, the Russian delegation will participate in a series of activities including courtesy calls to leaders of the Da Nang People’s Committee, Naval Region 3 Command, Military Region 5 Command, and cultural exchanges with Vietnamese naval officers and sailors. The itinerary also includes city tours and joint training exercises.
This visit comes at a meaningful time as 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Russia diplomatic relations (January 30, 1950). The traditional friendship between the two nations continues to grow, evolving into a comprehensive strategic partnership, with defense and military cooperation being one of its key pillars.
The event not only reaffirms the mutual trust and close ties between the two countries but also opens up opportunities for broader cooperation in economics, culture, education, and people-to-people exchanges between Da Nang and Russian regions.
