Song Vinh Church belongs to the Ba Ria Diocese and is located in Tan Phuoc ward, Phu My City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province.
Song Vinh Church was initiated in 2011 and completed after more than 11 years of construction. It not only serves as a religious center for the local Catholic community but also attracts a large number of visitors every weekend and during Christmas celebrations.
The church was constructed on a plot measuring 82 meters in length and 35 meters in width, designed in the distinctive Gothic style typical of Western Europe.
The building includes a ground floor, one upper floor, and two soaring towers reaching a height of 55 meters, all featuring pointed arches.
The church gates are particularly striking. They are crafted from solid stone, consisting of 18 massive slabs weighing hundreds of tons, meticulously sculpted by artisans with intricate decorative patterns.
Beyond the main gate are finely carved statues depicting the 14 Stations of the Cross, executed with remarkable precision and realism.
A spacious courtyard serves as the site for prayers and Catholic gatherings, accommodating thousands of people.
Inside, the church’s sanctuary is solemnly designed with a central nave and two side aisles, highlighted by the prominent main altar and flanked by side chapels, offering seating for up to 1,500 people.
Numerous large windows, characteristic of traditional Gothic architecture, allow natural light to flood the church’s interior.
A standout feature inside the sanctuary is the collection of stained-glass windows, which resemble vibrant paintings.
To create each stained-glass window, artisans apply a layer of powdered sand and paint in a negative image style before firing the glass at extremely high temperatures.
Since its inauguration just before Christmas 2022, Song Vinh Church has consistently attracted visitors, including many non-Catholics.
Tran Thi Binh, a 47-year-old resident of Ba Ria City, shared that she often brings her children to visit Song Vinh Church on weekends to relax and admire its unique architecture. She noted that the church looks especially majestic under the colorful lights at sunset.
"Every time I come here, I love hearing the church bells ring. It brings such a peaceful feeling," Binh said.
According to the Ba Ria Diocese, the Song Vinh Parish currently has more than 2,677 parishioners.
