In recent days, Bach Dang Wharf Park (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), with its displays of cannons prepared for the grand April 30 celebration, has become a striking backdrop for many couples' wedding photo sessions. Marking life’s significant milestones in a place filled with national pride is a dream for many young people.
That was also the dream realized by Nguyen Thanh Liem (born 1969) and Pham Thi Le Tam (born 1973) from Long An, who decided to mark 33 years together with a special wedding photo shoot.

Dressed in a flowing white gown and a military uniform, the couple once again became the most beautiful bride and groom in each other’s eyes.
Before the imposing cannons, their tender gazes and gentle hand-holding moved all who saw them. The photo set received thousands of "hearts" after their daughter, Nguyen Kim Tuyen (born 1996), posted it on social media.
A deeply emotional experience for the family

Speaking with VietNamNet, Kim Tuyen said: "More than ever, this was the perfect occasion for me to capture a beautiful, meaningful photo set for my parents, celebrating both their 33rd wedding anniversary and coinciding with the country's great national celebration."
When she shared the idea with her parents, the family enthusiastically embraced it. Tuyen’s mother, who loves beautiful photos, agreed immediately. As for Mr. Liem, "as long as it makes my wife and kids happy, I’m happy too," he said.
Tuyen meticulously prepared everything for the shoot. She commissioned a new wedding dress for her mother, while her father already had his military uniform.
"My parents just needed to bring their best spirits. Everything else was handled by me and the team," Tuyen shared.
Capturing meaningful moments at Bach Dang Wharf

On April 22, Mr. Liem and his wife traveled more than an hour from Long An to Ho Chi Minh City. That afternoon, the couple arrived at Bach Dang Wharf, looking polished and radiant, excited to create unforgettable memories with their daughter.
"Luckily, my parents weren’t shy about posing. Their actions and gestures came naturally. I think it's because they are affectionate with each other every day, so taking wedding photos felt easy," Tuyen said.
The photo shoot was a resounding success. After some light editing, Tuyen presented the photo album to her parents - a meaningful gift capturing their enduring love. Mr. Liem and his wife were delighted and emotional when viewing their new wedding photos.
A soldier’s pride, a family’s happiness

Mr. Liem, who has served 35 years in the military, expressed his emotions when speaking to VietNamNet.
"When my daughter suggested taking wedding photos at Bach Dang Wharf, I was deeply touched," he shared.
"We got married in 1992, and at the time, we only took a few wedding photos, which are now old and faded. My daughter’s idea to capture new memories filled me with joy.
Given my years in the military, having our wedding photos taken at such a historic place is truly meaningful."
Visiting Ho Chi Minh City during this special time, Mr. Liem felt the proud and jubilant spirit of the people as the nation prepares to celebrate April 30.
For him and his wife, the experience of taking these photos at Bach Dang Wharf will remain a treasured memory, filled with emotion and national pride.
