From June 30 to July 9, 2025, a photo exhibition titled “Vietnam – Identity, Humanity and Integration” is being held at Building E, Palais des Nations, Switzerland. The exhibition aims to promote the image of Vietnamese culture and people, underscoring Vietnam’s strong commitment to protecting and advancing human rights.

The event is jointly organized by the Standing Office on Human Rights in coordination with the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations and the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG).

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from the UN Office in Geneva, delegates from various UN Treaty Bodies, over 20 ambassadors and heads of delegations from member states of the Human Rights Council, and more than 40 delegates attending the 59th session of the Council.

The exhibition showcases vibrant, artistic photographs that take viewers on a journey through Vietnam’s cultural and natural heritage - from the majestic beauty of Ha Long Bay and the terraced fields of the Northwest to heritage sites like Hoi An Ancient Town and Cham Towers. The photos reflect the harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, and the cultural diversity of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups, as seen in traditional costumes, daily life, and colorful festivals.

Beyond cultural aesthetics, the exhibition highlights Vietnam’s commitment to protecting fundamental human rights. Images of religious festivals and spiritual rituals emphasize the country’s protection of freedom of religion and belief.

Other photographs convey positive messages about Vietnam’s achievements in education, healthcare, and social equality.

As an active and responsible member of the United Nations, Vietnam continues to improve its legal framework and implement priority policies for women, children, persons with disabilities, and ethnic minorities - through free education, universal healthcare, and economic development in remote areas.

Through these photographs, audiences gain a clear sense of Vietnam’s efforts to build a just, democratic, and civilized society, in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. These efforts also contribute to global peace, prosperity, and respect for human rights.

The exhibition has received praise from diplomats and visitors alike, offering the international community a glimpse of a modern, deeply integrated Vietnam that remains rooted in its cultural identity and collective spirit - values seen as vital to the nation's strength.

This exhibition marks an important milestone in promoting Vietnam’s cultural and human image, reaffirming the country’s strong determination to protect and promote human rights.

It is also considered a “plus point” in Vietnam’s ongoing campaign to secure a seat on the United Nations Human Rights Council for the 2026-2028 term.
