During raids on three locations including a business, warehouse, and packaging site run by husband-and-wife team Lu Hung Phat and Tran Thi Bich Lien, police seized 10,000 counterfeit bottles of Chanel, Dior, Bvlgari, YSL, and other luxury perfumes. The market value of the fake goods, had they been authentic, is estimated at 10 billion VND (about USD 392,000).

The Ho Chi Minh City Economic Police Division is expanding its investigation into a suspected smuggling and tax evasion network trading in counterfeit luxury fragrances. The operation is allegedly led by Lu Hung Phat (30) and Tran Thi Bich Lien (29), both residents of An Lac A ward, Binh Tan District.
Phat, Lien, and five accomplices involved in the large-scale fake perfume business have been arrested. Police said the network was highly organized, using multiple rented sites for storage, packaging, and as business fronts.
Through social media groups, the couple distributed fake perfumes across the country. Some buyers even became resellers, profiting from the counterfeit goods. Investigators believe the network sold a large volume of fake perfumes and reaped significant illicit gains.
The counterfeit fragrances were sourced from smugglers who brought them into Vietnam from China. The couple then packaged and boxed the items under major brand names before putting them on the market.
After a period of surveillance, the Economic Police formed several task forces to simultaneously raid three locations tied to the couple's operations: their business address, storage warehouse, and packaging site.
In total, authorities confiscated 10,000 counterfeit perfume bottles mimicking brands such as Chanel, Dior, Bvlgari, and YSL.
The investigation is ongoing as police work to identify the supply network, downstream distributors, and further clarify the offenses of smuggling, tax evasion, and the sale of counterfeit goods.
