Starting May 10, Vietnam Railways Corporation will officially launch its first-ever VIP carriages featuring 34 premium seats on the Hanoi - Hai Phong route.

A total of 20 luxury carriages will be introduced on this line, operating on train services HP1/HP2, LP5/LP6, LP2/LP3, and LP7/LP8.

The exterior of the new cars is painted in a vibrant red tone, inspired by the red flamboyant flowers that symbolize Hai Phong city. Inside, the design blends contemporary elegance with the historic and multicultural architectural style of the port city.

Notably, for the first time in its history, Vietnam Railways is operating a 34-seat VIP carriage, designed in the Indochine style - a fusion of modern lines and traditional East Asian tones - evoking a sense of refinement and luxury.

These VIP cars feature natural wood flooring, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a built-in bar offering free drinks. Designed as a moving check-in hotspot, the space may also host live musical performances during the journey.

A separate 56-seat carriage includes rotatable seats that can swivel 180 degrees, allowing passengers to adjust their orientation for comfort and avoid motion sickness from sitting in reverse. The interiors are thoughtfully selected to ensure a comfortable ride.

Additional features across the new carriages include semi-automatic doors, electronic displays showing the train’s location and speed, spacious handwashing areas, and modern, clean restrooms. Car floors are covered in vinyl carpet, and the walls are finished with stone-textured plastic panels in elegant color schemes.

To meet diverse passenger needs, the train also includes 64-seat standard-class carriages, with a flexible ticket pricing policy.

Special class (VIP 34-seat carriage) tickets are priced at approximately USD 10 on weekdays and USD 12 on weekends (Friday through Sunday). This class includes one complimentary beverage of the passenger’s choice.

First-class (56-seat rotatable carriage) tickets are around USD 6 on weekdays and USD 7.20 on weekends, with passengers receiving one complimentary bottled water.

Standard class tickets are approximately USD 4.20 on weekdays and USD 5.20 on weekends.

To mark the grand opening week from May 10 to 18, Vietnam Railways will offer a 10% discount on all tickets for trains operating along the Hanoi - Hai Phong route.
