Vietnamese MMA fighters will soon have the opportunity to compete for medals at the SEA Games and Asian Games.

VMMAF has scheduled two major national tournaments in 2025. The MMA Championship 2025 will kick off on April 12, while the National MMA Club Cup 2025 is set to take place from June 23 to June 29 in Hanoi.

The MMA Championship 2025 will introduce new competition formats in addition to traditional MMA bouts. Fighters will have the opportunity to compete in striking-only, ground-fighting, duel matches, and team battles, adding variety to the tournament.

According to Tran Dai Trieu, Deputy Head of the VMMAF Referee and Technical Committee, "Each event is expected to feature 10 to 12 matches, including fights under the new competition formats, alongside traditional MMA bouts."

The results from these tournaments will determine Vietnam’s MMA representatives for SEA Games 33 and Asian Games 20. This marks the first time MMA is included in these prestigious sporting events, presenting a historic opportunity for Vietnamese fighters to compete for medals on the international stage.
