More than 40 standout technological products, digital solutions, and services by Vietnamese enterprises were unveiled on May 16 at the Vietnam Science and Technology Day 2024 exhibition in Hanoi. The event spotlighted the country’s growing capacity in scientific research, innovation, and digital transformation.

Held in celebration of Vietnam Science and Technology Day (May 18), the Exhibition of Scientific and Technological Achievements, Innovation, and Digital Transformation (S&T/Innovation/DT) featured a broad array of technologies across six key sectors: Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation, Scientific Innovations, Prominent S&T Products, STEM Education, Startup Technologies, and Media and Publishing in S&T.

Among the most captivating displays were:

Military engineering technologies, including optical-electronic observatories and fire control systems developed by the Institute of Military Automation.

Autonomous robots from the University of Fire Prevention and the Military Technical Academy.

AI Camera solutions developed by Viettel.

PicoDragon satellite model and Vietnam’s trio of national satellites: PicoDragon, NanoDragon, and MicroDragon.

3D printing in medical applications, presented by Vinmec Hospital and the University of Civil Engineering.

Virtual reality headsets, innovative software platforms like MISA eShop, and AI productivity assistants from NTQ Solution (CodeVisNxUniverse) and FPT (CodeVista).

Students and tech startups also participated, with creative products on display such as 3D printers, auto timelapse devices, and custom STEM solutions for education.

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized that the new draft Law on Science and Technology and Innovation would shift the development focus toward empowering businesses. The law aims to equip enterprises with greater autonomy and funding - both private and public - for R&D initiatives.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung called for the development of a comprehensive national innovation ecosystem, highlighting the need for effective public-private collaboration and policy incentives that place citizens and businesses at the center of the innovation drive.

As of late 2024, Vietnam is home to 73,788 digital technology enterprises, marking a 10.12% increase over 2023. Their combined revenues reached approximately USD 158 billion, up 10.2% year-on-year.
