The exhibition will take place from August 28 to September 5 at the National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh, Hanoi, under the theme “80 years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness.”
The exhibition will highlight Vietnam’s most significant achievements over the past 80 years of nation-building and development, particularly in strategic sectors such as industry and technology, investment and trade, agriculture and rural development, national defense and security, foreign affairs, healthcare, education, culture, sports, and tourism.
The exhibition will also celebrate “Vietnam - The Land and Its People,” emphasizing 4,000 years of cultural heritage, the diversity of its 54 ethnic groups, the richness of its natural resources across all three regions, and notable architectural works throughout the country's history.
Visitors will explore Vietnam’s industrial journey, including green industries, digital transformation, aerospace, and defense. There will also be an immersive space dedicated to Vietnam’s 12 cultural industries and displays from countries with significant diplomatic relations with Vietnam.
The exhibition will use various formats such as large display panels, photos, drawings, documents, artifacts, and cutting-edge technologies including 3D mapping, virtual reality, multimedia art, and AI-driven digital experiences.
Three major exhibition zones
The General Exhibition Area (Kim Quy Hall) will follow the theme “Vietnam - Journey to a New Era.” It will feature horizontal and vertical narratives highlighting Vietnam’s historical milestones and timeless legends, conveyed through a deeply immersive and meaningful journey. This area includes six thematic spaces: “Vietnam - The Land and Its People,” “95 Years Under the Party Flag,” “Development and Innovation,” “Prosperous Provinces,” “Economic Front-Runners,” and “National Startups.”
The Outdoor Exhibition Area, themed “Integration and Development,” will include displays such as “For a Green Future,” “Aspirations for the Sky,” “The Sword and the Shield,” and “National Festival Day,” alongside live art performances.
The International and Cultural Industries Exhibition Area (Block A) will carry the theme “Integration and Creativity,” featuring spaces themed “Innovate to Build” and “Vietnam and the World.”
This afternoon, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh and Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh co-chaired the third session of the Exhibition Steering Committee.
Deputy PM Mai Van Chinh emphasized the urgency, noting that only days remain before setup begins and the workload is immense. He called on ministries, sectors, and localities to pool resources and adhere strictly to assigned responsibilities.
He stressed the need for clear and specific planning using the “6 clears” approach: clear people, clear tasks, clear timelines, clear responsibilities, clear deliverables, and clear outcomes. He asked agencies to prepare their most compelling data, documents, and accomplishments for the exhibition.
Deputy PM Nguyen Hoa Binh added that the 80th National Day celebration will include a series of high-profile events such as military parades, cultural performances, historical conferences, and exhibitions. The government expects this exhibition to be rich, comprehensive, and aligned with the overarching theme.
He also emphasized the importance of presenting content through diverse methods including artifacts, images, digital products, and platforms. Localities should highlight unique cultural features, local specialties, and distinctive artistic programs.
He concluded that the exhibition must meet high standards, deliver international-class quality, and create an enthusiastic, celebratory atmosphere that will leave a strong impression on both domestic audiences and international visitors.
