Continuing their training tour in Japan, the Vietnam U20 women’s team played their second friendly match against Fujieda Jyunshin U19 from Shizuoka Prefecture – reigning champions of Japan’s national high school girls’ football championship. The final score saw coach Okiyama Masahiko’s squad fall 1-4.

The match, held on July 16, began on a high note for Vietnam, with forward Hoai Trinh sprinting past defenders to score in the second minute. However, the lead was short-lived as the hosts quickly equalized right after the restart.

For the remainder of the first half, Fujieda Jyunshin capitalized on multiple opportunities, scoring three more goals and sealing a convincing 4-1 victory.

In this match, coach Okiyama Masahiko continued testing new personnel and tactical variations. He deployed a different starting lineup to help players adapt to high-tempo play, gain more experience, and learn from the strengths of Japanese women’s football.

Previously, on July 13, the Vietnam U20 women’s team also played a friendly against Shizuoka Sangyo University and lost 1-3. This training tour in Japan is considered a key preparation phase, helping the young players build valuable experience ahead of the 2026 AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers.

According to schedule, Vietnam U20 will play three more friendlies in Japan against Iwata Higashi (July 17), Shizuoka SSU Bonita (July 19), and Aichi Toho University (July 20).
