After completing their domestic training phase, the Vietnam U20 women’s national football team has arrived in Japan to begin a 10-day training camp in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture.

On July 11, head coach Okiyama Masahiko and his players touched down after an overnight flight, officially kicking off their overseas preparation for the 2026 AFC U20 Women’s Championship qualifiers. Warmly welcomed by the Japan Football Association, the team quickly settled in, had lunch at their hotel, and held a light afternoon training session.

The team’s first practice took place at Shizuoka University’s training ground. The session allowed the players to adapt to the local climate, which is dry and sunny, with temperatures hovering around 30°C – quite similar to Hanoi.

In a friendly and intimate atmosphere, the players had the chance to meet and take photos with Vietnamese students currently studying at Shizuoka University – the team’s training base during their stay. This brief cultural exchange served as a meaningful morale boost ahead of their upcoming qualifying journey.

During the training camp, Vietnam U20 will play five friendly matches. These matches are critical for the coaching staff to assess fitness, tactics, and team coordination under real match conditions.
