In the refreshing morning air of Hanoi today (April 29), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse hosted Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru and his spouse for a breakfast featuring Hanoi and Vietnamese culinary specialties, along with the rich flavor of Vietnamese coffee.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse introduced Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru and his spouse to Vietnam's rich culinary culture.

The two Prime Ministers and their spouses then visited the National Museum of History, a site celebrated for its unique and romantic fusion of Eastern and Western architectural styles. The museum houses and preserves over 200,000 cultural and historical artifacts and documents from prehistoric times to the present. Among them, approximately 20 artifacts and documents have been recognized as National Treasures.

The leaders and their spouses journeyed through Vietnam's historical timeline, exploring periods from prehistory and antiquity to the Dong Son, Dong Nai - Oc Eo, and Sa Huynh cultures, and the feudal dynasties to modern and contemporary history, all through centuries-old, millennia-old, and even tens of thousands-year-old artifacts.

Artifacts on display reflect the life, labor, production, and struggles to build and defend the nation by the Vietnamese people. Exhibits include fossilized ape and human teeth, ancient animal bones, stone and bronze tools, pottery, jewelry made of stone, pottery, bronze, and silver, and a variety of weaponry.

Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru and his spouse expressed admiration for Vietnam’s millennia-long history of building and defending the nation. They also noted cultural similarities between the two countries.

Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru thanked the Vietnamese leaders, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the Government, and the people of Vietnam for their warm and respectful welcome extended to his delegation.

He affirmed that Japan will continue to stand with Vietnam in the new era, supporting Vietnam’s socio-economic development, the building of an independent and self-reliant economy, and the process of industrialization and modernization.
