Initial evaluations indicate that the incident may have been an accident resulting from toxic exposure. At the same time, Vietnam's Consular Department has been working with domestic agencies to confirm the victims' identities and promptly notify their families.

The Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taiwan will continue to monitor the investigation closely and is prepared to provide consular support and assist the victims' families with posthumous procedures.

The Department of Overseas Labor Management (Ministry of Home Affairs) also released a preliminary report on the case today, confirming that Taiwanese authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.

To safeguard the rights and interests of Vietnamese workers, the department has issued a formal request to labor export companies to inform, express condolences to, and support the families of the deceased.

These companies are required to coordinate with Taiwanese partners and relevant agencies to assist the victims’ families in traveling to Taiwan, or to act on their behalf in handling funeral arrangements and repatriating remains and belongings, in accordance with the families’ wishes and applicable laws.

The department also requested that businesses urgently liaise with employers to ensure that all due wages, bonuses, allowances, insurance, and other benefits of the deceased workers (if applicable) are fully settled.
