
This annual list includes companies from seven countries in the region: Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Cambodia, covering various industries.
The ranking is based on corporate size, revenue, and net profit for the prior fiscal year (FY2024). This year, 26 technology firms were featured among the 500 companies.
Fortune cited VNG’s inclusion due to its strong financial indicators, consistent growth across core business sectors, and a flexible, cost-efficient operational strategy.
Earlier, in late May, VNG was also honored as the “AI Company of the Year” by the Globee Awards.
In 2024, VNG posted net revenue of 9.273 trillion VND (approximately 364 million USD), a 22% increase from 2023. Adjusted net profit from core operations reached 302 billion VND (around 11.9 million USD).
Though it recorded a net post-tax loss of 1.080 trillion VND (about 42.5 million USD) by Fortune’s metrics, this was a 51.08% improvement year-over-year.
Significantly, VNG contributed 1.114 trillion VND (around 43.9 million USD) to the national budget, marking the third consecutive year it surpassed the 1 trillion VND threshold.
The Fortune Southeast Asia 500 highlights the rising economic influence of the region, positioning it as a hub for sustainable growth, manufacturing, exports, and strategic investments amid global supply chain shifts.
