
In the semifinals of the 2025 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship, VTV Binh Dien Long An faced Beijing once again. Previously, in the group stage, the Vietnamese representatives had suffered a narrow 2-3 defeat despite leading two sets.
In the rematch on the evening of April 26, Thanh Thuy and her teammates were determined to exact revenge. Coach Thai Quang Lai fielded his strongest lineup, featuring Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Nhu Quynh, Natalia, Lu Thi Phuong, Kim Thoa, and Khanh Dang.
In the first set, an impressive performance by Lu Thi Phuong helped VTV Binh Dien Long An take an early 2-0 lead and extend it to 15-7. Beijing struggled with their first touches, committing multiple errors that led to easy points for the Vietnamese side. Vi Thi Nhu Quynh sealed the set with a 25-15 win for VTV Binh Dien Long An.
The second set proved more challenging, as Beijing improved their first-touch plays and diversified their attacks. The two teams exchanged points in a thrilling battle. After the score tied at 14-14, the experience and powerful spikes of Tran Thi Thanh Thuy helped the Western region team pull ahead, winning the set 25-19.

Riding the momentum, VTV Binh Dien Long An started strong in the third set. Thanh Thuy, Nhu Quynh, and Lu Thi Phuong continued to be the main scorers for Coach Thai Quang Lai’s team. Meanwhile, Beijing, compared to the group-stage encounter, appeared impatient and error-prone.
Lu Thi Phuong delivered an outstanding third set, consistently troubling Beijing’s blockers. The 23-year-old middle blocker also showcased powerful, precise serves. VTV Binh Dien Long An maintained a 3-4 point lead throughout, and Vi Thi Nhu Quynh finished the set 25-21, securing a 3-0 overall victory.
With a convincing performance and capitalizing on Beijing’s mistakes, VTV Binh Dien Long An successfully avenged their earlier defeat. The team secured a place in the final of the 2025 AVC Women's Club Championship and earned a ticket to the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship.
Thanh Thuy and her teammates will face Zhetysu VC (Kazakhstan) in the final, scheduled for 6 PM on April 27.
