Luong Viet Hieu, a student ar the Hanoi University of Transport, is one of many young people creating personal websites with id.vn domains. He said having the site helps build a professional, standout image when seeking job opportunities.
Owning a personal website with a unique domain, Hieu not only has a platform to showcase skills, experience, and personal projects, but also can impress recruiters in shaping a personal brand.
“Having an id.vn domain isn’t just about creating a personal website; it’s how I demonstrate proactivity and commitment to my growth path. In the digital age, where everything is searchable and evaluated online, building an online space to position myself is a huge advantage. It helps me stand out to recruiters and reflects a goal-oriented, progressive mindset,” Hieu explained.
Contrasting the difference before and after having a personal website, Hieu said he was once rejected for a job fir which he was qualified just because his CV didn’t pass the initial screening. A traditional CV, limited in scope, couldn’t fully convey what he wanted to present to employers.
After he built a website, Hieu could attract higher attention from employers with more information, from personal projects and products to blogs and research work. All the information can be displayed on one page.
Hieu believes that owning a personal website with an id.vn domain is the first step to build a personal brand in the digital space.
Lam Nguyet Truc, who is studying economics at the University of Economics HCM City, said she has her own id.vn domain website to freely express her perspectives online.
She said owning a personal website with an id.vn domain is like having a comprehensive online portfolio. Previously, job applications were limited to traditional PDF resumes, making it hard to build a personal brand, while employers had to scour multiple sources for candidate information.
“Since the day I built a personal page with an id.vn domain, I have had a professional online portfolio, easily shared with recruiters via a link. It helps me stand out among other candidates, clearly showcases my personal brand, and boosts my access to job opportunities,” Truc said.
Hoang Van Tho, director of PVComBank’s Dong Tam branch in Hanoi, has noticed this trend among candidates. Young people building personal websites with comprehensive details are a wise approach to job applications. An id.vn domain website highlights digital skills and boosts credibility. Employers can save time, and there is no need to search for candidate information across scattered platforms.
According to Vieclam24h, technology is transforming traditional recruitment, with both candidates and employers intensifying the use of high tech to find suitable jobs and talents.
