Apple is preparing to release a series of new products in early 2026, including the budget-friendly iPhone 17e, refreshed iPads, and MacBooks equipped with the upcoming M5 chip.
According to Bloomberg, the new iPads are expected to debut around March or April 2026, retaining their current design but featuring faster processors.
The new product slate includes upgraded models of the base iPad and iPad Air, a refreshed external monitor for Macs, and new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models powered by Apple’s next-generation M5 chip.
The iPhone 17e, a successor to the current $599 model, will feature the A19 chip, aligning it with the performance tier of the standard iPhone 17, and replacing the A18 chip used in the current generation.
The next-generation base iPad, expected to succeed the current $349 model, will come with a new chip replacing the A16.
Meanwhile, the iPad Air will see a performance boost with the M4 chip, upgrading from the current M3, but its design is expected to remain unchanged. The 13-inch version, one of the best-selling iPads, will continue to be priced around $800.
Apple also plans to launch the M5-powered iPad Pro as early as October 2025, starting at $999. This model marks the first major upgrade to the Pro line since May of the previous year.
On the Mac side, the release of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M5 chips will be pushed to early 2026, rather than the originally expected late 2025.
This update may mark the final iteration using the current design introduced in 2021, before Apple shifts to a refreshed chassis and OLED displays for improved performance and premium visual quality.
New MacBook Air models and a follow-up to the 2022 Apple Studio Display are also anticipated in the first half of 2026.
Additionally, Apple is still developing a new smart home hub, which was initially planned for release in March this year.
The launch was delayed due to reliance on an upgraded Siri voice assistant, but the product is expected to debut next year.
Apple’s early 2026 roadmap is seen as a strategy to regain revenue momentum, following two years of weakened consumer demand, partly caused by the slow release cycle of new iPads.
Apple will still maintain its major fall launch timeline for 2025, with new thinner iPhone 17 models, redesigned iPhone 17 Pro variants expected on September 9, updates to Apple Watch models in both mainstream and premium segments, a refreshed iPad Pro, and a faster version of the Vision Pro headset.
Apple declined to comment on the reports.
