According to Time Out, the list was based on research conducted by Berlew Design Studio, a Nottingham-based design firm. The experts highlighted that color plays a significant role in shaping travelers' choices for summer holiday destinations.
Berlew analyzed the vibrancy levels of 125 leading global travel spots using advanced "computer vision" technology. The system reviewed high-resolution images taken by street photographers and identified the five most dominant colors in each location. These color profiles were then scored to determine the top 20 most vibrant destinations worldwide.
Ho Chi Minh City is one of only three Asian cities featured on the list, alongside Jodhpur and Mumbai in India.
Vietnam’s southern metropolis impressed with its distinctive French colonial architecture - characterized by soft yellow or white façades accented with terracotta roof tiles and red brick - offering a charming blend of elegance and historical grandeur.
Additionally, Time Out noted that the city’s traditional markets, filled with colorful goods; vibrant, neon-lit streets; and abundant greenery all contribute to the rich and dynamic urban landscape that defines Ho Chi Minh City.
Topping the Time Out list is Burano, a small island near Venice, Italy, renowned for its rows of vividly painted houses. The destination has often been described as a living canvas of bold, cheerful hues.
