On the afternoon of June 30, the Prime Minister, also Secretary of the Government Party Committee, chaired the ceremony to announce the appointment decision.

At the event, Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Minister of Home Affairs and Head of the Government Party Committee’s Organization Commission, announced the Prime Minister’s decisions.

Accordingly, Ho Van Nien, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of Gia Lai province, has been transferred and appointed as the Permanent Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs. The appointment takes effect on July 1, with a five-year term.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed satisfaction in reinforcing leadership at the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs on a significant national celebration day.

He extended appreciation to the Party Committee of Gia Lai for its role in nurturing and supporting Ho Van Nien's leadership journey from local governance to national responsibility.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Ho Van Nien has made significant contributions to the Party, government, and the people during his service.

He expressed hopes that the newly appointed deputy minister would uphold the revolutionary ethos of “as long as the Party exists, so do we,” demonstrating exemplary moral integrity and leadership.

The Prime Minister also urged the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs to continue close coordination with relevant agencies and to fulfill its assigned functions and responsibilities as entrusted by the Party and the State.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ho Van Nien expressed his honor at being entrusted by the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Government. He pledged to perform his duties diligently and welcomed further support and collaboration in his new role.

Born on October 15, 1975, in Yang Bac commune, Dak Po district, Gia Lai province, Ho Van Nien holds a Bachelor's degree in Law and an advanced degree in Political Theory. He is an alternate member of the 12th Party Central Committee and a full member of the 13th term. He also served as a National Assembly deputy in the 14th legislature.

Ho Van Nien’s political career advanced through local leadership, including roles such as Party Secretary of Dak Po district, Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Internal Affairs Commission, and Standing Deputy Secretary of the 15th Gia Lai Party Committee (2015-2020 term).

On June 1, 2020, he was elected Secretary of the Gia Lai Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term and was re-elected for the subsequent term until his recent appointment to the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs.

Also on the same afternoon, the Prime Minister appointed Tran Duc Thang, member of the Party Central Committee and Party Secretary of Hai Duong province, as the Standing Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate.
