On the evening of May 11, officials from the People's Committee of Son Hoi commune (Son Hoa district, Phu Yen province) confirmed that a severe traffic accident had taken place in the area, resulting in the death of a 5-month-old girl and critical injury to another child.

According to initial reports, at around 2:20 p.m. the same day, a truck bearing a Phu Yen license plate (driver not yet identified) was traveling along National Highway 19.

When the vehicle reached the section passing through Tan Thanh hamlet (Son Hoi commune), it suddenly crashed straight into the house of Ra Lan Thi Linh (34), a local resident. At the time of the incident, her two children, R.L.T.H (5 months old) and R.L.T.D (12 years old), were inside.

The impact of the collision caused the small, single-story house to collapse. Baby H. was seriously injured and did not survive despite being taken to the Son Hoi commune health station. The older child, D., was injured and is currently receiving emergency medical care.

Local authorities said Linh is a single mother raising three young children under extremely difficult economic circumstances. The house that was destroyed in the accident was a charity-built home, recently donated to the family by a volunteer club.
