The Management Board of the Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) has officially approved CMC Technology Group’s investment in the CMC Hyperscale Data Center project, with a total capital exceeding USD 250 million.
The CMC Hyperscale Data Center, located at the eastern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, will initially offer a capacity of 30 MW, with plans to expand to 120 MW. The facility is designed to meet the massive computing demands of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital economy sectors.
A technological highlight of the project is the integration of a Digital Twin system, which allows real-time simulation and operation monitoring, optimizing the data center’s overall performance. It will also be equipped with an 800G DWDM optical transmission network, ensuring high-bandwidth, stable, and secure connectivity. Additionally, renewable energy solutions will be implemented to achieve international Green Data Center (Green DC) standards.
Beyond its technological significance, the project supports a national mission to position Ho Chi Minh City as Vietnam’s first AI-powered smart city. With this infrastructure, the city will gain a strategic advantage in attracting R&D centers, AI startups, investment funds, and tech universities, paving the way to become the regional digital hub.
The CMC Hyperscale Data Center in Ho Chi Minh City is expected to be a major leap forward, placing Vietnam on the Southeast Asian data infrastructure map and welcoming global tech giants and AI enterprises.
