Visa has officially launched its Click to Pay solution in Vietnam, in partnership with major issuing banks such as MB, Techcombank, Vietcombank, VietinBank, and VPBank. The service is also being rolled out by payment gateways Alepay and Payoo, along with Sacombank and VietinBank.
Click to Pay streamlines online payments by enabling cardholders to complete transactions with just a few clicks, eliminating the need to manually enter card details. It offers a fast, secure, and seamless online checkout experience and is globally accepted, allowing users to pay effortlessly at any e-commerce site that supports Click to Pay.
The solution integrates advanced technology and global security standards to safeguard transaction data, offering peace of mind to users. By shortening the checkout process and reducing cart abandonment, Click to Pay benefits both consumers and merchants.
Ms. Dang Tuyet Dung, Visa Country Manager for Vietnam and Laos, stated: “Visa is committed to driving payment innovation and delivering seamless, secure, and convenient shopping experiences. With e-commerce becoming an integral part of daily life in Vietnam and aligning with the government's digitalization goals, Click to Pay and Visa will revolutionize online shopping and pave the way for a more connected digital economy.”
Visa cardholders can now register for Click to Pay through the mobile banking apps of Techcombank and VPBank or directly on participating e-commerce sites. When shopping on websites that display the Click to Pay icon, users can enjoy safer, more convenient transactions both domestically and internationally.
In Vietnam, Visa has partnered with Payoo - a payment platform connecting retail systems - to integrate Click to Pay for its merchant network. These include KOI Thé, UrBox Trading, AEONESHOP, Galaxy Cinema, ACFC, Maison Online, NEM, Elsa English, GearVN, Vietrace365, and Hop on Hop off.
Soon, Visa cardholders who use Click to Pay at Payoo’s merchant network will also enjoy attractive promotions, further enhancing the cashless shopping experience and driving adoption of modern digital payments.
Other merchants such as LG Electronics Vietnam, the British Council, PVI Insurance, PropertyGuru Vietnam (batdongsan.com), Mai Nguyen Electronics, and Triumph International Vietnam are also using Alepay, a payment gateway provided by Ngan Luong, to process Click to Pay transactions smoothly. Many more retailers are expected to adopt Click to Pay in the coming months.
Click to Pay is designed to improve digital payment processes and complies with EMVCo standards. It leverages Visa’s Token Service (VTS), which replaces card data like the 16-digit PAN with a unique token. This tokenization adds multiple layers of security, helping reduce fraud by up to 58% and increase average approval rates by 2.5% in Asia-Pacific compared to transactions using the PAN directly.
