
On the evening of July 15, immediately following the final match, the closing ceremony of the 2025 Expanded ASEAN Police and Security Forces Football Tournament took place in Hanoi. The Vietnam People’s Police Team II emerged as champions of the tournament.
The event was attended by high-ranking officials, including Nguyen Hoa Binh, Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister; Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Hong Thai, Deputy Minister of National Defense; and Le Hai Binh, Standing Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Representatives from the Political Work Department of the Ministry of Public Security, the Vietnamese Public Security Sports Association, the Vietnam Football Federation, and major sponsors T&T Group and SHB Bank also joined the ceremony.
In his closing remarks, Major General Pham Kim Dinh, Director of the Political Work Department and Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee, highlighted the tournament's spirit of unity, friendship, and sportsmanship. He praised the teams for their excellent performance and fair play throughout the competition.
“We hope this tournament becomes an annual event, rotating among ASEAN countries. Through sports, we aim to strengthen cooperation in maintaining security, fighting transnational crime, and fostering peace, safety, and prosperity in the region and globally,” he said.
Prize highlights
Vietnam People’s Police Team II took home the championship trophy along with a prize of USD 30,000. The Cambodian police team finished as runner-up, earning USD 15,000. Thailand and Timor-Leste, who tied for third place, each received USD 5,000.

Laos: Fair Play Award
