Vietnam's women's futsal team has officially secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup 2025 after a convincing 3-0 victory over the Philippines. Head coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang commended his players for giving more than 100% on the court.
Reflecting on the match, Coach Hoang said: “We started better than in the previous game. The players showed stronger spirit and better control of the match. That allowed us to create more advantages. Each phase of the match presented different scenarios. In the first half, we applied high pressing, limiting the space for our opponents to build up their play.”
“In the second half, we focused more on maintaining stability and concentration. I’m really happy with the result - it’s a collective effort. The players gave more than 100%.”
With this 3-0 win, Vietnam temporarily tops Group B with 6 points. Their final group-stage match will be against Iran at 4:00 PM (Vietnam time) on May 11 at the Hohhot Sports Center in China.
“After each match, the coaching staff analyzes both the strengths and weaknesses of our performance. We’ll also carefully study Iran to develop a suitable tactical approach for the next game.”
“As of now, after the Philippines match, we haven’t had any serious injuries. Some players may be slightly overloaded, but the coaching team will have recovery plans to ensure everyone’s in top form for the next match,” Coach Hoang concluded.
