To mark the 249th anniversary of U.S. Independence Day (July 4, 1776 - July 4, 2025) and the 30th anniversary of Vietnam-U.S. diplomatic relations (July 12, 1995 - July 12, 2025), General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent congratulatory messages to U.S. President Donald Trump.
On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also sent messages of congratulations to U.S. Senate President James David Vance and Speaker of the House Mike Johnson.
In their messages, Vietnam’s top Party and State leaders reaffirmed that Vietnam consistently regards the United States as a strategically important partner. They welcomed U.S. support for a “strong, independent, self-reliant, and prosperous” Vietnam.
Reflecting on the 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties, particularly since the upgrade to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Vietnamese leaders expressed their delight at the positive developments in bilateral cooperation across all fields at the bilateral, regional, and global levels.
Vietnam affirmed its readiness to work with the United States to further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in an effective and substantive manner, delivering tangible benefits to the people of both countries and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and globally.
Also on this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son sent a congratulatory message to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
