As April draws to a close, the streets of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have taken on a radiant, festive look. Bright banners, red flags with yellow stars, posters, and slogans celebrating the 50th anniversary of Vietnam’s reunification have transformed the cities, embodying national pride and joy.
In the days leading up to the grand April 30 celebration, Ho Chi Minh City’s streets are awash with the red and yellow of the national flag, along with promotional banners and posters commemorating the historic event.
Across urban areas in Districts 2 and 7, many households have proudly displayed large national flags at even intervals, creating a vibrant and cheerful atmosphere.
Outside an old apartment complex on Tran Hung Dao Street in District 1, decorations have added a sense of excitement to the familiar surroundings.
Many eateries and cafés have also joined in, decking their storefronts with the national flag. In District 1, one coffee shop’s window display featuring rows of flags has drawn the attention of passersby.
At a residential tower along Nguyen Hue walking street, a uniform display of flags has transformed the area into a sea of red and gold, offering a stark and joyful contrast to ordinary days.








Hanoi's colorful tribute to the nation's reunification
In Hanoi, the city has likewise been transformed for the national celebration, with central streets and tourist destinations decked out in patriotic displays.
At the headquarters of the Hanoi People's Committee, a series of large posters honoring the nation’s reunification have been erected.
Around Hoan Kiem Lake, decorative scenes have been set up for locals and visitors to capture memorable photos during the holiday.
Tourists, both domestic and international, have been charmed by Hanoi’s colorful and festive transformation.
The facade of Trang Tien Plaza features a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh alongside a slogan promoting Vietnamese strength and unity.
At "Banking Square," a traditional hot spot for major holidays, decorations highlight the city’s festive spirit.
Along Tran Vu Street, surrounding Truc Bach Lake, rows of small red flags create a vivid and celebratory atmosphere.
On Yen Phu Street, a café decorated with patriotic imagery has become a favorite stop for young visitors.
At Dịch Vọng Hậu Secondary School in Cau Giay District, the school gates have been completely adorned with the national flag, blending seamlessly into the city's exuberant preparations for the 50th anniversary of national reunification.
