Their love for Vietnam inspired a unique name and a journey to register for the VNeID system.
Moved by their love for Vietnam and the convenience of digital services, an Indian couple traveled nearly 100 kilometers with their daughters - one named after the country - to register for VNeID level-2 electronic identification accounts.

Recently, Sanwar Mal Vyas (born 1994) and Sharma Lad (born 1995), both Indian nationals, made the trip to the Immigration Office of Nghe An Provincial Police to complete procedures for digital ID registration.
The couple, who have worked as engineers for nearly a decade at a stone manufacturing company in Dong Hieu Commune, Nghe An, proudly named their first daughter Tran Viet Nam (3 years old) and their second daughter Tran Le Na (9 months old), using Vietnamese names to express their affection for the country.
“We love Vietnam deeply, which is why we chose Vietnamese names for both of our daughters,” said Sanwar Mal Vyas. “We were informed about the e-ID registration for foreigners and the many benefits it offers. We're very happy and adjusted our schedules to complete the process.”
To support foreign residents, the Immigration Office provided multilingual guidance, including step-by-step instructions and required documents in English and Chinese. Officers were also assigned to assist applicants directly.

In recent days, many other foreigners have visited the Nghe An Immigration Office to complete their VNeID registration.
Among them was American citizen Shawn Kelley, who came with his family. A teacher at a language center in Nghe An, Kelley has lived in Vietnam for six years and is married to a local woman.
“I was told that a level-2 VNeID account helps foreigners conveniently complete online administrative procedures and protect their legal rights while living and working in Vietnam,” he said. “It also allows us to use services like banking, insurance, and rental agreements without having to carry original documents.”
According to local statistics, over 220 foreign nationals residing in Nghe An currently hold temporary or permanent residence cards and are eligible for level-2 VNeID accounts.
To streamline the process, the Immigration Office has prepared facilities, equipment, and staff to support the registration.
Within the first four days of a special high-priority registration drive, over 140 foreign nationals in Nghe An successfully completed their e-ID registration. The office aims to complete this campaign ahead of schedule.
